Good Friday Morning

Good Friday Morning Fantastic 2nd Graders and Families,

Today is Friday, March 27, 2020.  Usually on Fridays we take an extra long brain break because we do not have a related Arts class.  In addition, we have social studies.  Have you researched a National Park? What have you learned about that National Park?  If you have not researched yet, today is a great day to get started.
I know you have all learned that our school year will look very different for the rest of the year.  That said, we are still a class and we will continue to share and learn together and apart.  Please know that I will be here for you all.  We will be learning in different ways but achieving the same goal; being a learner forever.

Remember our Core Values and practice them often:

Be Kind

Be Safe

Do my Best!

Make today the best it can be!

Peace,
Mrs. Bauman

What is happening in 2nd grade?

Dear Families,

Here are some updates about what we are doing in 2nd grade!

On Friday, we finished our Measuring Unit in math.  On Monday we are starting Unit 5: Place Value to One Thousand.  A sheet has been placed in each mailbox for your children take home so you all can read about our new unit.

In writing we are continuing to learn about writing Persuasive Essays.  So far, we have took surveys, wrote a persuasive letter to Mr. Trifilio, wrote about our favorite books and much more. We are also learning about persuasive words so that we convince others that our opinion is correct.

In social studies we continue our work learning about the Everglades.  We are focusing on this important ecosystem and how both plants and animals have adapted to live in this habitat.

Finally, on Friday a sign up sheet for Spring Parent/Teacher Conferences went home in your children's mail.  Make sure to fill that sheet out and have your children bring it back to school and hand in that sheet.  It is on bright PINK paper!

Thank you for all your support and have a spectacular Sunday!
Nicole

100 apple celebration

                                                                               January 29, 2020

Dear Families,

We have reached our 100 apples goal! For our classroom celebration we voted for bringing in a stuffed animal to school.  So  tomorrow, Thursday, January 30th  make sure to bring in a stuffed animal that can fit into our backpacks.  If the stuffed animal is bigger than backpack size, it is too big.

                                                            Have a great Wednesday,

                                                                   Mrs. Bauman :)
